Just thinking about the budget mind it people like me.
Thanks

I can make it to whatever size you want without the flange on the bottom to weld on an original tuner base if you like. The one pictured is to SST60 spec. If you are planning to do that, the original tuner base should be machined out to the SST60 size to match the tuner before it's welded. As for price, give me a call. 519-492-0456. We'll talk.

Kevin

Bump ttt, what's happening at PalmTool skunkworks?
Overdue for shameless self promotion, give us an update on SST60 adaptor, what was learned(flaws & failures) through 2014 season, what's new & improved, to be incorporated in 2015 design? Will this still conform to SST60 spec?
Ready to take orders?...or sledding til April?

Sledding for a week in Cochrane right now but likely not till April even though I would like to haha. What I learned? Measure twice and cut once  I can make any tuner shape really, but the ones I keep in stock are to SST60 spec. I'm planing to make some for the 2015 season that will fit both SST60 hood, and 70/75hp hoods. I just need to get a hold of an SST60 hood and pan. I would like to make the new ones a lighter weight but that will require more machining time and result in a higher cost. As far as performance gains from one tuner shape to the next - it would have to be tested on a dyno to see. It felt to me like an SST60 shaped tuner seemed to work better than stock. I have one here ready to send.

Your work looks 100% fantastic, I would love to see this stuff in person.
you say it might be hard to tighten/loosen the tuner , so like Michael caine "ive got an idea"
This might sound like a daft idea, but here goes.

instead of having 4 bolts hold the complete tuner in place and being very difficult to get at to tighten/loosen.
what if the top of the tuner had a round threaded piece to attach it to your 4 bolt plate ?
you could still have your 4 bolt adapter type thing, but then the box type tuner with a female thread and
a male thread on the 4 bolt plate to the adapter or even a push up and twist into locked postion..
By having something like this you could even have different lengths of threaded collar to give more or less tuner length for different applications ?
Its just a thought and probably another one of my stupid idea's that just make swarf.

I am no engineer by a long way, and like most people could never in a million years do anything like this.
but from the work I am seeing you do, this would be a easy thing for someone like you to make .

if this sounds daft, don't panic. I have loads of ideas that don't work :P
and please don't take this the wrong way.

I made a new version of these adapter plates. The tuner is now billet aluminum and the adapter plate has a bunch of extra cutting to lighten it up. Even with the billet tuner being heavier, the new set is still lighter than the last version with all the extra material taken out of the adapter plate. Because of all the extra time and material involved in making them, they are now $650CDN. Although I haven't had any problems with the welded ones cracking, I feel a lot better about making these and they look way nicer. Here are a couple pictures...

well that does look very nice, the first ones were nice but this does look a whole lot better even.

does a square flared tuner act better than a rounded flared cone ?

not nocking your work in any way, I think its very good stuff, looks more like trophy quality than an engine exhaust part

I know this is an old post but i am looking at either rebuilding my stinger or converting to a 56ci and these adapter plates are a work of art and would love to have one. SO i was wondering if they are still being made? Does anyone know?
