I have an SK Charger, very nice ride and predictable. Just thought of putting the Delta away for one summer and get something slightly bigger for a second person but I don't want to give up the thrill of the ride. I think an Allison would be my first choice also.

A Laser huh, got to look into that also.

Don't ask about the 13 footer.

Yep, they made a 13 footer as well. Another great boat! Even harder to locate. I have only found 1 for sale and the seller changed his mind. DOC and I both tried to get it. If someone locates one please post it on the site.
For those that do not know the the Laser history in short here it is.
The 18 footer was a strong runner in racing . It was a V hull.
They modified it to a mod VP hull and it became famous.
This was the original STV and the original Charger STV

I sold my VooDoo and bought the Baja as I wanted something more family friendly. As time went on I stopped driving the Baja fast.

Buying used, look for hull condition first, brand second or be very patient.

Charger 16DL

I think it is tough to beat the 16dl overall, i think it is the best handling small family boat out there, great for skiing, fast if you want to set it up fast, turns incredibly well, boat drives flat at slow speeds ( ie doesn't bounce or carry the nose high) Jim Russel wrote a great review on the boat.

All in all I was super happy with the ride quality of the Allison. Definitely rides and handles like a bigger boat than what it is. That being said, it doesn't have the same room like a 16' dl or a baja would for interior/cockpit space. At the end of the day it depends on exactly what you want to get out of it. The alli is hard to beat, but I guess you could say I'm a little biased lol
