Who can build the fastest modified 40 hp 2 cylinder 40 cubic inch maximum displacement outboard.
Simple rules:
You must leave the powerhead looking original....it must keep its original carb(s), internal components and it’s displacement to a maximum of 40 over. No one off special engine parts...aftermarket replacement parts allowed....exhaust must run down the midsection ..
Original gearcase can be modified...any water pickup system allowed...no race fuel pump GAS only ..no add on power boosters.

The first thing to come into play is the boat.
The GT Pro Tunnel is a good option.
Sport C or Catch 10 Tunnel
A GT30 V hull is another
Even a light TBoat
SLT is not an option

The motor choices offer several different manufacturers and models.
The two cylinder 40 hp maximum and 40 cubic inch maximum really opens the door for a wide selection.
There is a great amount of race modification information on the OMC 35 hp motors so they could have an advantage. But the mercury and Yamaha have 40 cubic inch. 40 hp models . The OMC, the Yamaha and the mercury are single carb models.
Some of the other models are twin carb. Those models could be a surprise.
Good news is there are lots on the market and not very expensive.

I choose this size because it’s a cost effective and will be a very fast group. 65-70 mph.
Maybe some of the Muskoka Sea Flea will take notice.

It’s an easy stretch to see 4 strokes following.
