it runs pretty good! any 2.4 should be legal for Formula!the highest they were ever rated was 245 and that was efi!this one is just a carb. motor!pos. that I put together for some fun! P-man knows the motor, I just fixed it! ;)

A 2.4 BP can run with a 260 in a short course easy. Any Mercury HP Motor must run in Lake Race as per rules. 225 HP max. But we can look at how many there may be running. Our hopes are for 150-225hp factory production motors.
"just a 2.4" can be made to run extremely well. Let's try and keep things on the level. If its a 2.4 HP product it should be in Lake Racer. Check the proposed rules for Formula as this is a non HP motor group with the hopes of std type motors from all makes.
This is for fun but equality is what will drive the participation in two of the three classes.

;)

Agree with the Jeff that any HiPerf Division 2.4 Engine like the BP would run with the 2.5 HiPerf. I used to run a 2.4BP and I was always put with the 2.5’s. With stock heads on both motors, the disadvantage is on the bottom end of the course but not so on the top end…so the 2.4 like Jeff said is also competitive…put some tighter heads on it…and look out. Also Don’t forget that Mercury also made 265hp 2.4BP…this is what they called the ModVP…basically a 2.4BP carb with hot heads. A very potent motor 8-)

... I used to know it.
I ran that motor on my Vector with a cut 24" chopper it left GREAT!
I am excited to see how old Blue runs with it. I want to sit next to the old boat.

I like!
I've got a set of new 18" GTI rims that I'll someday use. I just need a real trailer first.
Depending on how things fit in the new garage I may pick one up this year.

It's going to be a project though! I already put new fenders on the trailer, but they aren't wide enough for these tires!probably pick up some Harley fenders! I'm going to have to narrow the axle too,so it will still slide in the garage when I need to! I really need the big tires here for haulout so it doesn't sink in the sand!I leave the trailer backed in while I run the boat and haul out when done!
