Boat / Racer to a pit crew member is MANDITORY from now on in the 2013 TORC Drags.

Two way family channel radios ( $50 ) or similar.

Will this allow the start boat to talk directly to the racers? That would make staging SO much faster...

We had a little discussion about this at Northbase! I think the plan is the start boat will have communication with the control tower and relay to the individual racer for post position! I would like to have com. with all,but that would require all same freq. and keeping radio chatter to minimum which we know won't happen!

It's up to each racer to decide what they want but to be able to know from shore what's going on solves hassles. If things are kept to a professional manor it will be easy.

Keep in mind that if you choose to get the Family channel style radios the drivers stand / judges and or race official WILL have your frequency number and can at any time call you on the radio for helpful assistance or what ever it may be.
This really is for the benifit of growth and professionalism as well as to make the Drag a seemless show for the crowd
