Those are ODBA rules and we simply don't have the boat count yet to allow for us to follow that. ODBA Lake Racer rules also would put more then a few boats with modest power in against pure race style boats like Blake and Mr.Archer . I can understand your frustration but we are doing our best with trying to make a general participant class ( Formula ) , a semi pro class ( Lake Racer ) and a class that is true to ODBA true drag boat class with Outlaw Pro Drag

Not having enough boats to run

Since we dont have enough boats, why don't we run time trials and match up by the numbers?

There is always 2-3 boats running alot faster then others.
Or:
Maybe to be fair to all parties, put a time limit per run.
Then if they are to fast, would have to prop down.
Would make the field even,,

Just a thought

We have plenty Lake Racer boats as the rules are now easily.
For trying to even up boat we have a plan for the first round on the competition ladder but after that its all yours.

The problem with the ODBA rules for us at the moment is that in order to make boats equal they have specific weights taht the boats must be depending on motors and such. We simply can not police the weight or have a crane on hand to weigh the boats before and after racing. The ultimate goal is to be at that point soon. We have 24 boats that are on the list have intend to race next year. So given everyones busy life and the fact that shit happens and plans change we hope to have between 15-18 boats per event. that would put

4 or 5 in outlaw depending

7-10 in Lake racer

10 or so in Formula.

We are doing the best we can with the rules and the ways to make the boats equal for now. The goal for this season is to try and get more guys to come try racing and we hope they like it. Once they are hooked like us then they can make a few small mods that are inexpensive that will help them out. If anyone remembers how my boat ran last year at dunnville and and gravenhurst Compared to how it ran at dunnville or Jasper this year you will see how that works. I added the box type skid planner to the hull before the jackplate and the planing fin on the lower unit. those 2 mods cost less then $200 and now the boat comes out of the hole like a monster!

Once we have a consistant group of 20 boats coming to events we can build rules to suit the group!

Ken you and your boat are a great example of what we need. That SRV is fast and with an allison style planner on the jackplate and a skid planner on the lower unit, I would be afraid to run you!
